Gateroad Ministry

One of the key themes, visions and goals of this ministry is to seek repentance and enter the narrow gate, that only few find. It is for those who want to find the truth for themselves.

Translation

13Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Matthew 7:13–14BSB

13¶ Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 7:13–14KJV

13“Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. 14How narrow is the gate and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are few who find it.

Our name

small GATE narrow ROAD comes from Matthew 7:14, in the words of the Berean Standard Bible. The 714 of the logo is the same verse: chapter 7, verse 14.

Our covenant

The Gateroad Covenant

This work is given freely, in keeping with one conviction: the Gospel will be Told, not Sold. It carries no price, no paywall and no hidden master.

To everyone who uses, copies, studies or builds upon it, we ask — not as a legal demand, but as a plea of conscience — that you treat the Scriptures it carries with reverence; that you do not bend this tool toward the harm of any person or toward the corruption of the Word it was made to serve; and that whatever you add, you give as freely as you received.

"Freely ye have received, freely give." — Matthew 10:8

The texts, lexicons, maps and references within are the work of many hands across many years. Their attributions are preserved honestly in this project, because telling the truth about a work's origins is itself a small act of the faithfulness this ministry seeks.

Non-binding. This is a plea of conscience, not a licence term. The legal terms are in LICENSE (code, AGPL-3.0), the per-source licences under data/sources/*/LICENSE (ingested data), and CC BY-SA 4.0 for content this project authors.

How we work

Three commitments run through everything.

  1. Two layers, kept apart

Reference material gives each tradition's own account, with its sources. The ministry's teaching speaks in its own voice and is always marked as such, so you know which is which.

  2. Truth over framing

Where a popular framing and the documented record differ, the record is shown and the framing is named.

  3. Reverence for the text

Nothing here writes Scripture or a definition. Every verse and every lexicon entry is its source's own text, byte for byte, and checked against it.
